Pfc Abel L. Beaudin enlisted in Utica, New York on 21 January 1944.During basic training at Camp Blanding, Floriada, he sustained severe burns in an accident and was treated in an army hospital for four months. He later volunteered for paratrooper, received his training at Fort Benning, Georgia and earned his wings in November 1944. He was sent overseas in February 1945.
