Herbert C. Davenport Jr. graduated from Greenville High School in 1943.He enlisted at Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia on 10 June 1943 and was sent overseas in February 1945.
Sgt Davenport was initially buried in a temporary grave at Margraten on 6 April 1945. He was given his final resting place in March 1949.
