Capt Paul H. Dean graduated from Philo High School in 1938.He joined the Regular Army in 1938 at Fort Hayes and served as a clerk for two years at Fort Benjamin Harrison in Indiana. In November 1941 he entered Officer Training at Fort Benning and in February 1942 was commissioned a second lieutenant.
Capt Dean was first buried at Temporary American Military Cemetery of Grand Failly, France.
On one of the photos, his brother Pfc Floyd Dean and his brother-in-law, Sgt Vernon Eddy, pose at his temporary grave at Grand Failly.
