T/4 Harold E. Lotze attended George Washington High School before he enlisted in Los Angeles, California on 17 November 1941.T/4 Lodzewhen attempting to evacuate a severely injured comrade. He went, along with another medic, under heavy fire, to the injured trooper, near a house occupied by the Germans. He was shot through the heart while jumping over a hedge.
