More information
Pvt Roy Bilbao enlisted on 11 January 1943 in Portland, Oregon. The Adjutant General's Office informed his mother that her son was reported missing in action with a letter, dated 23 January 1946. In this letter is stated that Pvt Bilbao embarked at Bremerhaven, Germany on 3 January 1946 on the steam-ship, John Ericsson. On or about 6 January 1946 he failed to report for a detail and failed to answer when paged. A search of the ship failed to reveal his presence.
It can therefore assumed that he must have fallen overboard.
