Pvt Mitchell Sher joined his unit from Replacement Depot on 1 October 1944.According to the Morning Reports of the 115th IR, Pvt Sher was reported Missing in Action on 7 October and was Dropped from Rolls on 31 October. This means, his remains weren't recovered soon after he was killed and it also explains why he is buried at Ardennes Cemetery.
