More information
Pfc William J. Walsh graduated from Classical High School in Providence-RI. He was a cross country star, a football star and the head of the physics, chemistry and math clubs. Before he enlisted in Providence, Rhode Island on 10 June 1943, he received the great news that he won a full 4-year scholarship to Brown University. But like so many young men, he felt the urge to join in the fight against Nazi Germany.
