Pfc Edgar J. Dawkins attended Burlington High School and was employed by the Fairchild Aircraft Co.He enlisted at Fort Bragg, North Carolina on 23 March 1944 and was sent overseas in October 1944.
He died in a field hospital of wounds received when he stepped on a landmine.
