Pvt Edison C Timmerman, 28 years old, Meets Death in Germany.
Mrs. Edison C Timmerman of Cairo has been officially notified by the War Department of the death of her husband who was killed in action in Germany on 13 March 1945. He had been previously reported as missing on that date.
Pvt Timmerman entered the Service in August, 1942, and went overseas on 15 February 1945, a member of the 311th Infantry. He was 28 years of age and is survived by his wife, the former Cornelia Cain of East Durham; a daughter, Linda Carol, aged 2; his mother, Mrs Sidney H Timmerman, of Cairo; three sisters: Pfc Lucille Timmerman, M.C. W. R., Parris Island, S. C; Mrs. E. J. Meddaugh of Bellaire, L. I., and Mrs Richard Wendelken of Cairo; three brothers: Sidney H Timmerman, Jr., A. C. M. M., U.S. Navy, on duty in the Hawaiian Islands; and Postmaster Roy Timmerman and Donald Timmerman of Cairo.
