Pvt James W. Shumaker attended high school for two years and was a driver with the El Paso City Lines.He enlisted at Fort Bliss El Paso, Texas on 19 June 1944. He trained at Fort McClellan, Alabama and Fort Meade, Maryland and was sent overseas in December 1944.
