Pvt William C. Lockard enlisted on 17 February 1941 in Berwick, Pennsylvania.

Prior to entering the service he was employed by the ACF. He trained at Indiantown Gap, Camp Livingston, Louisiana, Camp Gordon Johnston, Florida and Camp Pickett, Virginia.

He had been in England for some time before going to France where he had been in action for a long time.

No word has been received from him since letter written on 23 October was received the day after Thanksgiving.
