Pfc Lyle J. Houchin worked in a Chicago steel mill a year before he enlisted in March 1944. After training at Little Rock, Arkansas he was sent overseas in August 1944.

He is also remembered at the Greenwood Cemetery in Lagrange, Lagrange County, Indiana.
