Pvt William H. Sesser graduated from Centerburg High School and worked at the Timken Roller Bearing Company plant before he enlisted in Columbus, Ohio on 10 January 1944. He was sent overseas September 1944.

Pvt William H. Sesser was taken prisoner on 21 December 1944 in Luxembourg.

He died in Stalag VI-G.
