T/Sgt Frank J. Tokos joined the National Guard in Scranton, Pennsylvania on 17 February 1941.

According to the casualty file of T/Sgt Tokos, he was hit by enemy artillery while his company was into the attack. He was leading the leading platoon. After being hit, he started to head for the rear aid station but was not seen or heard of since.
