Sgt Paul W. Roesler graduated from Wells High School in 1937. He attended North Central College in Illinois for three years and the University of Minnesota for one year.He enlisted in November 1942 and was sent overseas in August 1944.
Sgt Roesler is remembered at Rosehill Cemetery in Wells, Faribault County, Minnesota with a memorial marker.
His cousin, Pfc John S. Willmert, is buried at the Epinal American Cemetery.
