More information

Pfc Neadie Crawford worked on a farm.

He enlisted at Fort McClellan, Alabama on 10 November 1942.

Shortly after Pfc Crawford was killed, his wife received a letter of Chaplain Edward P. Doyle, telling her details of his death. Below is an extract of this letter.
" While advancing with his company against the enemy, a heavy concentration of enemy artillery fire was directed at them. The time was one o'clock in the morning. When it was discovered that Pfc Crawford was struck by this firing, a medical aid man rushed to his side. However, he was beyond human help. There was no suffering on his part since the end came instantly."
