Sgt Edgar T. Boyd was killed by shrapnel in the chest.He was initially buried in a temporary grave at Henri-Chapelle on 8 November 1944. he was disinterred on 30 October 1947 and his remains were prepared and placed in a casket on 3 November 1947. He was given his final resting place on 18 August 1948.
On the from "Request for Disposition of Remains" that can be found in the IDPF, his mother wrote that she wished her son could be buried at Flanders Fields Cemetery because of his love for the Belgian people. Under no circumstances she wanted him to be buried on English or French soil.
