Pvt Ralph C. Huntwork attended the Huron Elementary, Middle, and High Schools.
From April 1942 through November of 1942 he was employed at Armour and Company of Huron, South Dakota.
Doris, his first wife, died giving birth to James. Pvt Huntwork later married Jeanne Hanson.

He was sent overseas on 1 September 1944.

Pvt Ralph Clayton Huntwork perished on 7 May 1945 at a hospital in Germany at 11:30 a.m.
He had gotten suddenly ill the night before.

He is also remembered in a Veterans Memorial in front of the Huron Public Library.
