1st Lt Arthur J. Francis Jr. graduated from Rocky River High School and attended the University of Cincinnati.He enlisted in Cincinnati, Ohio on 22 June 1943.
He is remembered at the Lakewood Park Cemetery in Rocky River, Cuyahoga County, Ohio.
Lt Francis was awarded the Silver Star for conspicuous gallantry and intrepidity in action against the enemy.
