John J. Kane graduated from Westfield Trade School and worked the Pratt & Whitney Aircraft Company.He enlisted in Springfield, Massachusetts on 26 October 1942.
His brother, Pvt. Eugene Kane, a Bronze Star recipient, was killed in action in Normandy on 15 July 1944 and is listed on the Tables of the Missing at the Normandy American Cemetery
John Kane was declared death one day and one year after he was reported missing in action.
