Pfc Alfred B. Bonds graduated from Teaneck High School in 1943 and enlisted enlisted in Newark, New Jersey on 1 September 1943.He was selected for the Army Specialized Training Program (A.S.T.P.) and studied at Randolph Macon College in Virginia. When the program was cancelled he was sent to the infantry and sent overseas in August 1944.
