T/Sgt David J. Cullings was awarded the Silver Star Medal posthumously for gallantry in action on 14 December 1944 near Fraulautern, Germany.He was killed while seeking to cross a road swept by interlocking machine gun fire. His men continued until their mission was succesfully accomplished.
T/Sgt David J. Cullings was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery of Limey, France.
