Pfc Richard O. Boyd graduated from Johnson City High School.He enlisted in Binghamton, New York on 24 July 1943 and was selected fot the Army Specialized Training Program. When this program was disbanded, he was trasferred to the infantry and sent overseas in September 1944.
He was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery of Limey, France.
