Pfc Dana D. Goodwin Jr. attended North Georgia college for two years, where he attended the ASTP course.

He volunteered for the Army of the United States at Fort Devens, Massachusetts on 18 February 1943.

He was killed by artillery shell fragments in his chest.

He is remember at the Forest Hill Cemetery in Fitchburg, Worcester County, Massachusetts.
