Pfc Arthur J. Rogers attended high school for two years before he enlisted in Boston, Massachusetts on 4 November 1942.

Pfc Rogers braved intense enemy fire until mortally wounded in a valiant attempt to evacuate a wounded comrade. He was killed by artillery shell fragments in his shoulder. For this action he was awarded the Bronze Star Medal posthumously.
