Pvt Charles S. Keller Jr. attended college for one year and was a sophomore at Alabama Polytechnic Institute at Auburn before he enlisted at Fort McClellan, Alabama on 14 October 1944. He was sent overseas early in March 1945.He died from artillery shell fragments on his buttock and hip.
