Sgt John R. Suglio attended Lincoln High School for 3 years and was a mechanic and repairman.

He enlisted in Cleveland, Ohio on 3 February 1943 and was sent overseas in May, 1944.

He was wounded in France on 9 August 1944 for which he was awarded his first Purple Heart.
