Pvt Edward J. Kmets joined the Regular Army on 25 November 1939.He was wounded mortally when his tank was hit by anti-tank fire.
His brother Pfc Frank Kmets died of wounds in Italy on 20 October 1944. He is buried at the American Military Cemetery of Florence, Italy.
