Eugene S. Brown was a truck driver before his enlistment in the Army.

At 2.45 am an enemy airplane dropped several bombs. A direct hit on one of the houses, occupied by the Service Company, killing 8 men, all members of Battalion Maintenance Platoon.

T/Sgt Eugene S. Brown was with his unit since its activation in Fort Lewis, Washington on 16 May 1942.
