Pfc George W. M. Pratt graduated from the Knoxville High School and was employed by the Alcoa Aluminium Co. before he enlisted in June 1943. He was sent overseas in June 1944.On 27 February 1945, B and C Company were supporting the infantry in the town of Köningshofen-Bedburg when the enemy counter attacked with several Mark V tanks. C Company lost four tanks. Three burned out, killing 4 men. Pfc Pratt was reported missing in action that day.
