More information

Stanley G. Nalipa enlisted iat Fort Hayes Ohio, on 11 November 1942.

Both his parents were immigrants from Poland.

Sgt Nalipa was flying as a replacement. He was wounded in the stomach but still conscious and bailed out. He was last seen dead on the ground. According to 'Jerry,' his chute did not open. However, his body, along with that of the co-pilot, was covered with bloody chute silk. Chutes obviously had opened but, whether or not they were alive when they hit, is not known. The pilot, Lt Weaver, escaped via Dutch underground. He was told that Nalipa was killed by civilians/German soldiers. Stanley had flown 34 missions.
