S/Sgt Harold F. Koehler graduated from North Canton High School in 1931.He joined the Regular Army at Fort Hayes, Ohio on 10 May 1941 and was sent overseas in December 1943.
At 1101 hours, aircraft 471 was attacked by fighters, peeled to the left with #3 engine on fire and spreading to fuselage. Two men bailed out and chutes opened. The plane went into a spin and exploded going into the clouds.
