Sgt Elmo W. Spradlin was a spinner at the Belding Heminway Co. before he enlisted in Roanoke, Virginia on 21 September 1942.He was reported seriously wounded in action on 26 September when A Company took high ground on a hill 1,5 mile south of Morey. He was brought to the 39th Evacuation Hospital in Vertuzey, France where he died of his wounds on 5 October.
