2nd Lt Thomas P. Lally was a shipping clerk before he enlisted in New York City, New York on 21 November 1942.

He was reported missing in action on 4 October when his company entered Sivry to help G Company, which was surrounded by enemy forces. The whole day, the town was under enemy artillery and mortar fire.
