Pvt Bill Connor was a miner before he enlisted at Camp Dodge, Herrold, Iowa on 14 March 1944.
On 26 September, E Company seized and held their objective. They returned later that day to their former positions in the vicinity of Leyr, France. Pvt Connor was reported lightly wounded in action and brought to a hospital.
