Pvt Leonard E. Dickinson owned a gas station. He was also an employer of the American Brass Company.

He was reported seriously wounded in action in the vicinity of Seinghouse, France on 2 November and evacuated to the 60th Field Hospital, that was operating in Brulange, where he died of his wounds.
