Pvt Robert A. Milliman attended Ferris institute at Big Rapids for a year. He was a chauffeur before he enlisted at Fort Custer, Michigan on 13 January 1942.He formerly served in the anti-aircraft artillery before being transferred to the infantry in November 1944. He was then sent to Camp Gordon, Georgia for training.
Pvt Milliman's was serving a basic soldier (administration) at HQ Company of 3rd Battalion before he was transferred to E Company on 27 March 1945.
