T/5 Willard B. Carman graduated from Warwick High School and was a driver before he enlisted in New York City, New York on 11 November 1942. He was sent overseas in November 1943.
T/5 Carman had participated in the Normandy landings and had been wounded in action twice.

He was fatally injured in a motor crash.
