T/4 George L. Nyborg enlisted in the Regular Army at Fort Snelling, Minnesota on 18 November 1940. He was sent to Fort Meade, S.D. and from there he was trained to be an army cook. From there he went to Fort Young, Cal. and then was stationed at Camp Maxey, Texas, as a cook in the infantry. Before he entered the service he was employed as a trucker at Ellendale.He attended 4 years of high school.
