More information

Frank Panico were in an apartment at 18 Kiliaanstraat, Antwerp, Belgium when it hit by a V-bomb. Considerable confusion as regards identification of the bodies resulted by the fact that hundreds of casualties from the Rex Cinema and other bombed areas were brought into all available hospitals all during that week.

Frank Panico was buried at Schoonselhof Cemetery, Antwerp but his idendity was confused with that of Mr. Goetchius who was initially interred at the Temporary American Miltary Cemetery of Fosse, resulting that their names on the graves were switched. It was some time after the burial that the mistake was discovered and the names on the graves were corrected.

He died of extensive head injuries.
