SS Henry Bacon departed in convoy from Murmansk, Russia bound for Gourock, Scotland carrying ballast and nineteen Norwegian refugees. The ship was torpedoed by enemy bombers and sank in the waters of the North Atlantic. It was the last Allied ship lost to German aircraft.His picture was taken in 1925.
