Died during sleep and unattended. Was found dead in his ben when Second Officer tried to awaken him to go on watch.

Master Mariner Larsen was found died in his bed when the second officer tried to awaken him to go on watch. An autopsy, performed by city coroner, revealed the cause of death was due to an enlarged and fat heart.

He was first buried at the Second Christian Cemetery in Odessa.
