Pfc Ray I. Simmons was employed in the mailing room of the Times before he volunteered for the Army of the United States in Shreveport, Louisiana on 3 December 1942. He was sent overseas in September 1944.He was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery in Grand-Failly, France.
