Pvt William H. Witt was employed at the Metz Bakery before he volunteered for the Army of the United States at Fort Des Moines, Iowa on 3 June 1942. he was sent overseas in December 1943.He was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery in Grand-Failly, France.
