S/Sgt Alexander B. Gaydon was a stock clerk at Sears Roebuck Company before he enlisted in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on 12 January 1943.He was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery in Grand-Failly, France.
He was awarded the Silver Star Medal for hus action against the enemy at Normandy, France, on 14 June 1944.
