Sgt William Sorrow enlisted on 17 December 1942 at Fort McPherson, Georgia. He landed with his unit during the D-Day invasion in Normandy.He was lightly injured on 31 July 1944 for which he was awarded the Purple Heart Medal a first time.
Sgt. Sorrow is remembered at Grey Hill Cemetery in Commerce, Jackson County, Georgia.
