Pvt Bruce Powell graduated from Nogales High School in 1943 where he served as the Class President.

He enlisted on 16 September 1943 in Phoenix, Arizona. He joined his unit from a replacement depot on 16 June 1944 and was lightly wounded in action on 30 June 1944.
