Pvt Robert Morse attended Painted Post High School and was employed by Corning Glass.He enlisted on 22 December 1942 in Rochester, New York. He joined his unit from a replacement depot on 13 June 1944 and was seriously wounded in action on 17 July 1944 for which he was awarded the Purple Heart Medal a first time. After recovering he rejoined his unit.
