James F. Naegele's father died in 1927 and his mother remarried with Clarence W. Waldon. His mother died a few years later in 1932 and James and his sister Helen were adopted by his grandparents.Pvt Naegele enlisted on 19 November 1943. He joined his unit on 9 August 1944.
