Pfc Roger R. Maynard attended high school for 4 years and was was employed as manager of the Thom McAn Shoe Store in West Warwick. Before working for that firm he was employed at the stores of Joseph Nadeau and of Armand Brodeur in this city before he enlisted at Fort Devens, Massachusetts on 12 April 1944. He trained at Camp Croft, South Carolina, Camp McCoy, Wisconsin and Camp Myles Standish, Massachusetts. He left for overseas in November 1944 and served in England, France, Belgium and Luxembourg.
